          The ancient Greek civilization provided the foundation s of modern science & philosophy reaching its height in Athens around 2,400 years age , a period of outstanding achievement  known as the Golden age . Greek writers created new ways of expressing ideas & explored human emotions in their writing . The Second Station

         Greek Civilization developed first  &foremost in the form of small city-states , consisting of a city &the surrounding village s& farmland. These city states were fiercely independent & often fought each other , but the most advanced of them established the world’s first democratic governments, & gave their citizens the opportunity to take part in public affairs . The best-known city- states were Athens & Sparta .

         We can’t depart this port without giving a quick hint about the Great Greek conquer “Alexander The Great .”

           He was born in 356 B.C at Pella in Macedonia . He achieved many victories & conquests . He started from Pella with an army of 35,000 , crossed the Dardanelles into Asia Minor & met the Persians at the Granicas Rivers & defeated them . Then he moved tom Gordium . He came to a temple with a complicated knot . It was believed that who ever undid it would be a ruler Of Asia . He did it by one stroke of his sword .  After that he moved to Tyre where he beated the citizens there after their resistance . Then he moved to Egypt where the Egyptians welcomed him as a liberator and crowned him in Memphis .
